The navy blue away kit, which was manufactured by Adidas, was launched this week and the reports that it is breaking records. The new strip, which was designed with a retro look in a nod to the jerseys of the 1990s, has proven popular among Red Devils fans, with many hailing it as the best one the club have had in many years.

The authentic version of the away shirt is available for £110, though a cheaper version is priced at £80. The club say that the strip is a tribute to the city of Manchester, with three lighter shades of blue running through it in a nod to the three rivers – the Irk, Medlock and Irwell – that run though the city.

The away shirt will be worn by the United squad for the first time on Sunday, when Erik ten Hag's team take on Arsenal in a friendly in Los Angeles, California as part of their pre-season tour of the United States.
